Chronic respiratory disease and taking regular inhaled steroids
Chronic heart disease
Chronic kidney disease
Chronic liver disease
Chronic neurological disease
Shingles & Pneumonia vaccines will also be offered to eligible patients.
Welcome to the Wooda Surgery Online
The Wooda Surgery is a group practice offering a wide range of medical and nursing services. The team also includes district nurses, midwives and health visitors on attachment from the local trusts.
We welcome new patients living within our practice area (for details contact reception on 01237 471071) The surgery is purpose built and there is a pharmacy (leased to Lloyds Chemist) on site.
We really value our patients' feedback on all aspects of the services we offer. We are looking at a wide range of ways to feedback information to us. For example it could be as simple as being part of an e-mail group. We would particuarly like to hear from you if you use the surgery reguarly or if you have a long term health condition, a parent of a young family, have a mental health condition or are over the age of 75.
There are parking facilities for patients on site but these are limited and we would ask for your co-operation in parking within the areas marked out. Please be aware that parking is prohibited in Ethelwynne Brown Close and this is monitored by the local council. There is a large public car park adjacent to the surgery on Barnstaple St.

Following patient feedback, we are evolving our appointment booking system
We can offer a telephone or face to face consultation with your usual Doctor on the day you call or when they are next in if available. If you call is urgent and your Usual Doctor isn’t available, you will be able to speak to the Emergency Care Doctor on the day that you call.
It would be helpful if you could give a brief description as to the problem to enable us to prioritise your care and ensure that you are consulting with the most appropriate person. There may be occasions when a message to the Doctor is more appropriate than a consultation, our Receptionist will be able to action this.
Summary Care Record and online access
Please speak to the Receptionist team about access to your reord online. You will need to provide documents for proof of identity which include photographic I.D, i.e. a passport or driving liscence AND proof of your address, i.e a bank statement, unfortunately we cannot accept a utility bill for proof of address. If you do not have these documents, please speak to the Reception team about how you can provide proof of identification.
You will also be required to complete a consent form which you can print out and return to the Reception team. Please see below links:
